APR Energy, General Electric alliance shakes up mobile turbine technology 17 January 2017  In January 2017 APR Energy announced a renewal, and strengthening, of a strategic alliance with GE (General Electric) to provide mobile turbine technology for the fast track power rental market. The renewal of this strategic alliance grants APR Energy the exclusive rights as the rental provider of GE mobile gas turbines with a power output of less than 50 MW (Megawatts). Forming a part of this new agreement will be the acquisition of new eighth generation mobile turbines which will in turn expand its total fleet capacity to more than 2 GW (Gigawatts) which is in connection with APR’s initiative to upgrade and standardize its fleet.  For customers around the world, the renewed alliance will provide a temporary power market moving from diesel/HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) powered generation to fuel flexible turbines with the latest fuel efficiency and emissions control technology. This collaboration will enable customers the benefit of fast-track power expertise from APR while using technology from General Electric as a bridging solution during construction of APR’s permanent General Electric power plant.
